The John Roberts Trophy – 1st Round

The opening round of the John Roberts Trophy was held at Lilleshall Hall Golf Club in Shropshire. This eagerly anticipated event attracted 38 players, all keen to test their skills on a course famous for its demanding layout and picturesque surroundings.

Lilleshall Hall Golf Club is located beside Lilleshall Hall and the National Sports Centre. The club features a 6,253-yard, Par 70 course spread across 165 acres of stunning countryside. The scenic environment and competitive atmosphere provided the perfect backdrop for the start of this year’s John Roberts Trophy.

A notable highlight was the participation of Tim Holdcroft, Captain of Lilleshall Golf Club. He played 18 holes with John Evans, Captain of the Association, and Paul Boulton, President of the Association.

After the evening meal, John warmly welcomed Tim. Tim, in turn, thanked the Association for the invitation to play and attend the dinner. As a token of appreciation, Tim was presented with an Association tie.

Mike Holland, Match Secretary, carefully reviewed the scorecards and announced the results for the first day of the John Roberts Trophy.
