CAPLCUTTA CUP

The Calcutta Cup is a team event featuring three players per team. This year, the competition saw the participation of 24 Past Captains, all of whom gathered at Pennant Park. The venue offered stunning views of the Dee Estuary and the event was blessed with a very warm afternoon, creating an enjoyable atmosphere for all involved.

Trevor Sharp, the President of Pennant Park, extended a warm welcome to the Past Captains. He commented on the excellent condition of the course, and noted that everyone appreciated the evening meal provided after the day’s play.

Graham Newell, Vice-Captain of the Association, had the honour of presenting prizes to the successful players and teams at the end of the competition.

Winners: John Horan, Islwyn Luke, and Ian Bradshaw clinched victory with an impressive total of 76 points.

Runners-Up: Terry Jones, Trevor Sharp, and Andy Neath finished in second place, accumulating 73 points.

Third Place: The team of Allan Beavan, Alan Danson, and Keith Mitchell secured third place with 67 points.

Andy Joinson distinguished himself by scoring the only birdie two on the 9th hole and was rewarded with golf balls for his achievement
