Hawarden Golf Club hosted this year’s Pat Burke Memorial Trophy on Sunday 6th September, attracting 31 players from across the Association to its undulating par 69 course.
Hawarden Golf Club Vice Captain Jamie McDonnald welcomed the Association and noted that the greenkeeper and his team had worked hard over the past five years to bring the course up to an excellent standard. He hoped everyone enjoyed playing it.
President Paul Boulton thanked the caterers for the meal and the bar staff for looking after everyone.
There were six birdie twos on the day:
Darren Edwards birdied the 2nd hole.
Steve Pender, Ian Bradshaw and Ray Grayson each birdied the 5th hole.
Phil Campbell recorded two birdies, on the 2nd and 5th holes.
The winners of the 2026 Pat Burke Memorial Trophy were Mike Holland and Peter Roberts of Padeswood & Buckley GC, with an excellent score of 43 points.
Steve Boden and Steve F. Jones of Northop GC were runners-up with 39 points.
Darren Edwards and Simon Williams of Pennant Park finished third with 36 points.
